Riot team just released TFT Patch 9.15B which comes with minor changes, since they’re quite happy with where the meta is right now, so they want to see how the meta naturally changes over the course of two weeks with minimal input on their end.

Elise got a small buff
- Attack Damage: 40 ⇒ 45
- Spiderling Attack Damage: 40 ⇒ 50
Reducing the Player Damage from Spiderlinks in Patch 9.15 made Elise lose a bit in popularity, so she got a small buff this patch. This shouldn’t change things too much though.
Karthus got nerfed
- Ability Damage: 400/700/1000 ⇒ 350/600/850
- Ability Targets: 5/9/13 ⇒ 5/7/9
They announced this about a week ago and it was totally expected, Karthus was pretty much 1v9-ing late game.
Some players say that this nerf might be too much, it would have been nice to nerf either only the damage or only the number of units targeted by his ability, but Riot decided to nerf both. Does this mean we’ll see other 5-star units late game? Time will tell. Personally, I’m looking forward to seeing how people will adapt to this.
Kayle mana increased to by 25%
- Mana required to activate ability: 100 ⇒ 125
Kayle also received a small nerf, with his mana bar increased to 125, from 100 previously. This was also expected because she was quite strong late game and she was ulti-ing champions way too often.
I don’t think this mean she’ll fall out of meta, this nerf can be “fixed” with some items.
Pyke’s stun duration reduced
- Stun Duration: 2/2.5/3 ⇒ 1.5/2/2.5
This was also expected, lots of players picked him for his map-wide stun, even though it didn’t synergise with the team. I did that also, and early game it’s really strong. He falls off mid-to-late game, where it’s worth keeping him on the map only if you’re building 6 Assassins or Pirates.
Rengar’s Ability Speed Reduced
- Ability Attack Speed Bonus: 0.4/0.7/1.0 ⇒ 0.3/0.5/0.7
I’m not impressed by this update, I would have rather preferred his Ability Damage Multiplier reduced, because he’s quite a beast at this moment. I don’t think this “slight nerf” will change things at all.
Veigar’s Ability Damage Increased
- Ability Damage: 300/500/700 ⇒ 300/550/800
This is a head-scratcher, honestly. I’m pretty sure no one played him for his solo target damage, but rather for deleting units that have a lower level than him. Still, fur someone committed to the 6 Yordles team, this is welcomed, but I hardly believe it will influence the result of a game with this minor Ability Damage increased.
Guardian Angel got nerfed
- Health on restoration: 1000 ⇒ 800
This was somewhat expected, considering the fact that more and more players started to abuse the GA and Morello in the past few days. I still don’t think this is enough though, 20% Health regen is a decent nerf, but the item itself is still strong.
And one thing that Riot should make clear is if the interaction where Morello or Red Buff Burn disable GA’s healing is intentional or a bug. If the HP gained from GA is considered healing, then it makes sense to prevent it, but then why Noble’s Healing isn’t reduced by the Burn effect?
Rageblade got buffed
- Attack Speed per stack: 4% ⇒ 5%
I’m not sure what’s the point of this change, Rageblade was already strong and considering the fact that Rageblade is also stacking, I’m having a hard time understanding this update. Any thoughts on why they did this?!?
Morello’s Burn damage reduced
- Burn Damage: 25% ⇒ 20%
Finally, Morello gets nerfed. I still think 20% it’s a bit too much, considering how easy it’s for some champions to proc Morello’s burn early in the game on multiple champions, so it would still deal a ton of damage, even after the nerf.
Phantom Dancer dodges crits from Abilities
- Now allows the holder to dodge critical strikes from abilities.
Hm… wasn’t it OP already, why make it dodge the crits from abilities as well? Now Akali will have a hard time one-shotting PD enemies with her ult.
Runaan’s bonus hit damage increased
- Bonus Damage: 25% ⇒ 75%
This is probably their attempt to make Spatula useful again. Previously Spatula was a top-tier item, but then people realized none of the items built out of it were that good, maybe except for Force of Nature. All other items were situational and not many players crafted them for their team comps.
I still think people chose Runaan’s for it’s on-hit effects, rather than the damage itself. But the buff is more than welcome anyway.
Statikk Shiv fixed
- Fixed an issue where it would deal more damage than intended when less than four targets where available.
In this update they fixed a bug with Statikk Shiv which would target the same unit multiple times at the end of the fight when less than 4 targets were on the map. Basically, if there were only 2 enemies on the map, your Statikk Shiv would deal the 90 damage twice for each of them, since it had to target 4 units.
Sword of the Divine % increased

- Chance to activate: 5% ⇒ 7%
I’m still not sure why people would build this, it’s pretty unreliable and nobody seems to know exactly how or when the Crit chance is increased, so probably this buff won’t make it a top tier item anyway.
